Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Air-Whipped Foundation

Product Name: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Air-whipped foundation
Description: Airbrushed Finish
Colour: Nude
Price: around £6-£8
Boots did a 3 for 2 for Maybelline so this was one of the products I chose. The description at the back states:
"Our totally new liquid makeup sensation for an amazing air-brush finish! Air-whipped formula: the lightness of a mousse in a liquid foundation. Luxurious, yet amazingly light to touch!
Air brush satin finish: coverage is flawless, seamless, incredibly smooth, subtly luminous."

Sounds all too good to be true.
 Before:                                                                                              After:

So as you can see it does really well at covering my blemishes. I don't think the photo of my before is realistic but in real life I have huge pores and a few blemishes. I look really tired as well. The foundation comes in a pump so very easy to use. It is not mousse but definitely liquid formula. It brightens my face. This foundation is actually one of the good foundation maybelline has made to be honest. It was really easy to blend on the skin and it is a medium to full coverage. It doesn't feel heavy either on the skin. However, if you put too much it may look cakey so a little goes a long way.

Verdict: 8/10. Really like this actually. Most of the foundation are really expensive but this one is a lot cheaper and it works really well. I really like the texture and the outcome of this foundation. There is no scent to this foundation.

Review: MUA Trio Eyeshadow - Blue Babe

Product: MUA (Make-up Academy) Trio Eyeshadow - Blue Babe
Colours: White, Light Blue,  Dark Blue
Price: £2.50 or 2 for £4

This one is similar to the green one I did a review on. It also comes with a white highlighter, light shade of blue and darker shade of blue. Again, I think the colour shows up really well and the product is actually good for what you are paying for.

Review: MUA Trio Eyeshadow - Eden

Product: MUA (Make-up Academy) Trio Eyeshadow - Eden
Colours: White, Light Green, Dark Green
Price: £2.50 or 2 for £4

These are really cheap! I got 2 for £4. The packaging is really nice. It is made of plastic. It comes with a lid and opens like a powder compact. There is also an eyeshadow brush that comes with it. Quality of the brush is okay.

I think the packaging is actually good quality for what you are paying for. At the back of the container, there is a picture of an eye indicating how to apply the eyeshadow and what each colour is used for.

1. Define & Line: dark shade
2. Blend and Shadow: mid shade
3.Highlight: light shade

The colours come out quite well. It is a shimmer sort of colour. I don't think the photo showed the colour very well but in real life it is actually green and dark green.

Verdict: 8/10. I will definitely buy this again and recommend it for others to purchase. The colours shows quite well and is build able although it is not long lasting but it is just £2/£2.50. There is main different colours to choose from. I will do a review on the Blue Babe next.

Review: Skinfood Wildberry Milk Cleansing Gel (Moist)

Product: Skinfood Wildberry Milk Cleansing Gel (Moist)
Skin Type: All
Price: £16
My mum bought a set of Skinfood skincare so I decided to do an individual review on each of the product in the box. I have only used this product just now.

The description on the back states:

"This moisturizing cleansing gel combines lively wild berry extract with smooth milk extract to wash away dirt, oil and make-up leaving the skin soft and supple."

To use: Apply an ample amount onto the entire face and massage gently until makeup is completely dissolved. Wipe off with tissue or rinse off with lukewarm water.

I like reading the description to see if the product matches what it state it does.

The cleanser has a scent. After a few smell of it I couldn't tell if the scent is berry though. It reminds me of a shampoo smell. I think the smell is a love or hate. I don't like the smell they put on it because it kind of makes  the product cheap.

The texture is clear but it does feel like it is a combination of milk and gel texture.

The reminds me of a ketchup bottle. I like it because it is easy to squeeze out.

When I applied it on my face with make-up, you could see that it absorbed my bb cream immediately. My make-up was actually dissolving and I can see it stripping away. This does remove make-up but not waterproof eye make-up because next day I had black marks at the bottom of eyes from the mascara.
The cleanser also makes my face really smooth after I finished cleansing my face.

Verdict: 7/10. Very nice product. Good cleanser. Cleans the skin. Will I purchase again? I don't think I will since I'm trying to find a cleanser that will remove all my make-up including waterproof off my face but I have still not find that cleanser. I do recommend it to people who use light make-up.

Thank you to my Followers and the Comments

Hey Guys,

I just came back from my holiday and was trying to change the template and layout of my blog however I was unsuccessful (and I spend ages on it as well!).

I haven't posted for about 5 days but I will start tomorrow!

I did check my blog during my break time and I tried to comment and follow back however I have really short-term memory and the layout of my comments does not have a reply (which one of the reason I tried to change the template) so I was not sure which comments I replied to. I have added a reply link so hopefully this will clear things up.

Thanks to my followers and new followers who has continued to follow my blog even though it hasn't been updated (I try to keep my blog updated each day).

I also try and do a video each week so hopefully, I can film a short one tomorrow and show it to you guys.

Thank you and hope you are all healthy and happy. xxx

Review: The Body Shop Chocomania Body and Lip Butter Exclusive Edition

Product: The Body Shop Lip Butter and Body Butter Chocomania Exclusive Edition

I got this on my birthday so I don't really know how much this will be. I always wanted to get chocolate flavour body butter and they finally released one. I love chocolate (who doesn't) so I don't mind the scent of it.

The Lip Butter and the Body butter smells completely different I will discuss each individually.

Lip Butter - The smell reminds me of hazelnut chocolate. I think it's a love it or hate it smell. It is very moisturising  on the lips but it doesn't last very long.

Body Butter - This one has a more milky smell. It doesn't really smell like chocolate though. The smell is not as strong as lip butter. Again it is a love it or hate it smell. I rubbed some on my dry elbow and it did moisturise it but then I felt my skin kind of peeling and then the dry part is quite soft.

I don't really use The Body Shop Body Butters I prefer Boots Body Butter which I will do a review on it soon. The reason for this is because I find it abit expensive. I am glad though that I have a body butter from the body shop.

Review: Revlon Photoready Cream Blush

 Product: Revlon Photoready Cream Blush
Colour: Pinched
Price: £6.99

Review: Revlon Photoready

I was quite disappointed in this product to be honest. The texture of the cream was like a lip balm. I had to apply a few times before colours started to show. Also, I kind of forgot that Revlon loves putting glitter on their products. I suppose putting it on a blusher is ok depending on where you apply it on your face but applying it on the apple of your cheeks will certainly enhance your pores. I thought it was silly to put glitter on a foundation as well. I think if you put it on the bones of your cheeks it could highlight your features.

Verdict: 6/10. I like how it gives a natural finish but aside from that, I really hate products that have glitter especially face make-up. Doesn't the brand realise that glitter enhances pores? I don't think I will be rushing to buy this product either.

Review: Skinfood Red Orange Jelly BB Cream SPF20 PA++

Product: Skinfood Red Orange Jelly BB Creaam SPF 20 ++
Price: £8-£10
Colour:  Light Beige No.1 or Natural Beige No.2
Where to purchase: Korea, Ebay

I finally got my hands on this bb cream. I tried to get my friends to help me purchase this in Hong Kong but they say that they only sell it in Korea. I remember I first heard from it from oiseau88 from youtube. I get influenced really easily and she kept raving about this product so I thought hmm... I'm going to try it myself.

The packaging is not very good since I prefer tubes and squeezing the product out. The texture reminds me of thick face cream. It is not really jelly like (obviously). I fell like it is a cream but with colour. There is also a citrus smell to the product. I think it is a love it or hate it. I applied this with a foundation brush and it does spread really easily.

Before:

After:

Unsurprisingly, the product has made my face look whiter (I think its all the SPF ingredients it has). However, I think this is one of my favourite asian bb cream. The reason for this is because the product made my skin feel really soft and it gived a really nice matte finish. I expected my face to look oily after this product but it mattified my face.

Verdict: 8/10.
Very nice bb cream.  Some might think it cheapens the product for putting the scent but I think it matches the concept "orange". I dislike how it makes my skin look so white though (however compared to skin79 it is not too bad). Will I purchase it again? I think this bb cream will last me awhile so I'm not sure yet......have to see if I use it a lot in future and if I do, I might purchase it again.

Review and Swatches: Coastal Scents 88 Palette

Product: Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette Eyeshadow Colors
Price: Around £20
Where to buy: Online www. CoastalScents.com or ebay

I got this palette from my friends as a gift for my birthday. So happy about it and I can't wait to use them. I first heard this palette from sasakiasahi. She does really nice make-up tutorial using this palette. The palette comes with a mirror and 2 eyeshadow brushes.

I did swatches on a few colours only and I am impressed with the outcome. The colours are really pigmented. There are also so many colours to choose from. I think the price is decent for what you are paying for, plus it is a lot cheaper compared to MAC and Inglot where you have to purchase individual eyeshadows to create a palette.

Review and Swatches: Lancome Eyeshadow Palette

Product: Lancome Colour Design Sensational Effects Eyeshadow
Colours: Postive (Matte), Model (Metallic), Floralesque (Shimmer), Daylight (Matte), Best Dressed (Sheen), Excursion (Shimmer), Lezard (Matte)

Lezard (Matte); Excursion (Shimmer); Best Dressed (Sheen); Daylight (Matte)

Positive (Matte); Model (Metallic); Floralesque (Shimmer)

My mum got this for herself but didn't use it so she gave it to me. This was like brand new since she's kept it in the drawer for ages. The colours are really natural. It is not very pigmented unless you keep building on the colour. I quite like the colours since they are an everyday wear. However, I don't think the colours will last all day so you really need primer on the eyelids. Some of the light colours didn't show up unless you keep putting on it a few times. The darker colour showed better.

I'm not really a fan of lancome since it's a bit expensive for me just now, so not in a rush to purchase the eyeshadows again. There are better eyeshadow palettes that cost less with more colours.

Review: Inglot Cream Blush

Product: Inglot AMC Cream Blush
Price: £9
 Information: No. 80

Hi! It's been a while since I've done a review. Been busy trying to make more videos. This is my first cream blusher. I heard that cream products is waterproof and tends to last longer (Dope2111 from youtube) and I have got to say I love this blusher! It comes in different colours. I picked a really pink one. If you want to see the outcome of the blusher please check out my video.

It is really easy to apply on the face. The colour is buildable. I once accidently melted but it ment it was easier to apply on the face. The price is quite expensive but it is a long lasting product. I do recommend to people who love using blushers. It's quite small so convenient to put in the pocket.

Verdict: 9/10

In The Garden Make-up

Hello People!
Haven't done a eye make-up photo for a while now. I've been working on the videos and editing plus I have been lacking inspiration so I am not sure what kind of eye make-up I can do. Finally, I have done this Orange and Green Natural Make-up look. I was just looking through the "More" magazines my mum got from Hong Kong and I saw this make-up look and really liked it. It looks great for Summer.

Just saw some other make-up look in the magazines and will try more of the other ones.

Review: Skinfood Vita Tok Lipstick

Product: Skinfood Vita Tok Lipstick
Colour: PK04 Vanila Therapy

My mum randomly got this for me in Hong Kong. This is my first Skinfood product. I was surprised how good this product was since I didn't have much expectation for this. This lipstick was very moisturising. The colour was very nice and natural.

This lipstick is good for an every day wear. I'll probably buy more online from ebay. There are different colours to choose from.

Verdict: 9/10 - One of the good lipsticks I have used

Review: Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Contour Kit

Product: Benefit Big Beautiful eyes Coutour Kit
Price: around £10-£25 (depending on where you purchase it)
Where to buy: UK Boots

I've had this product for a while. I think I got it for my birthday/Christmas. The package comes with instruction in how to apply the make-up to create the big eye effect. The concealer is cream based. There is a light pink eye shadow used as a highlighter and base and the main eye shadow on the lid is the darker pink and a brown colour used as eyeliner. There is 3 brushes (one for concealer, one for eye shadow and the other used as eyeliner) The brushes are not that good quality apart from the eyeliner brush.

I don't really use much of this product apart from the brown eyeliner. I really like it to draw under my eyes. I apply white eyeliner under my eyelid and then the brown underneath.

I definitely won't buy this again. Benefit make-up are nicely packaged but the quality are drugstore type. There isn't really anything special about it. It is way over price for what it actually is. However, I will buy other benefit products because they have really pretty attractive package that makes it irresistible to purchase.

Review: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation

Product: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation 16 hours Wear
 Price: £5.99
Colour: No. 4 Natural Beige
Where to buy: UK Superdrug, Boots
 Information:
  • Fresh appearance for up to 16 hours
  • Flawless coverage
  • SPF 20
  • Oil Free
  • Anti Transfer
  • Shake well before Use
I finally got around to reviewing this product. This was the 3 for 2 Collection 2000 product I got last week and it took me ages to review it because I wanted to show you guys if this foundation is really 16 hours. I have to say I am very impressed with this foundation especially for the price and brand. the packaging is hard glass and there is a pump as well. To be honest I took a photo of the 12 hours (second photo) first and then applied foundation over (first photo).

So this is what it looks like when you apply it.

 After applying foundation

As you can see above, it gives good coverage and it is very buildable. It gives a really nice flawless, glow finish which I like in foundation. It does not have glitter on it either (cough cough Revlon Photoshop Foundation). I really like the outcome of it.

This is a photo of me 12 hours from 7 am to 7pm. The foundation appeared to have stayed on. You can see some blemishes close up and maybe my dark circles but the skin still looks flawless. It was raining today so normally my skin would get shiny but this foundation kept my face matte.

 12 hours after

Verdict: 10/10.
I love this foundation! It is very good for what you pay for. If you like the medium to full coverage look. This is the foundation for you! You can use this to create a natural look as well. I don't really have much bad word to say about this foundation since it does exactly what it should and the price £5.99 is very cheap for a foundation.

Review: K-Palette 24hr Tattoo Eyeliner

Product:  K-Palette 24hr Tattoo Eyeliner
Price: about £10
Where to buy: Ebay

Another eyeliner review. I always try and search for waterproof, non-smudge eyeliner and I came across this. I think I read it online a few years ago about how good this was so I bought it online and decided to try it. I was really pleased with my purchase. It looks like a black pen with a very thin brush and it was really easy to glide on the eyelid. I've been using this for almost a year now. This product is still going strong so it should last for a long time.

However I did a test on this product to see if it was 24 hr tattoo eyeliner.

As you can see from the result that it really isn't what it says. I rinse water over it and started rubbing and it quickly vanished. If you want waterproof eyeliner it is best using a gel eyeliner than liquid eyeliner. This product is not selling their concept well.

Verdict: 6/10. I really like this eyeliner and would have considered purchasing again but the price is to high for me, it is hard to get locally and the product is not waterproof/ does not last long. Hmm... I think the reason why it has last that long is because I use it occasionally. I do think it is one of the best liquid eyeliner I have used. If Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner did not come out I would not hesitate to purchase again.

Review: Inglot Cream Concealer

Product: Inglot Cream Concealer
Price: £10
Colour: No. 24
Where to Buy: Inglot Shop, Inglot Online

I don't remember when I bought this but I do like this concealer. This concealer is really good at concealing any blemishes or spots. It is also very easy to blend as well. Whenever I have a huge spot or blemish on my face I quickly use this and powder and it becomes less noticable. Inglot concealer has different range of colours to choose from. It is very easy to get a colour to match your skin type. As you can see the concealer was very easy to blend into my hand and it matched quite well. The concealer easily adapts to the skin colour.

Verdict: 7/10. The quality is good and I do think it is good price for the quality however, £10 for a concealer? That is like the same price as a foundation..... Their is plenty of good concealer in the market that cost less than £10. The Inglot Cream Foundation is £11. Maybe purchasing the foundation would have been a better idea. Overall, the inglot concealer is too expensive compared to other concealer.

Review: Inglot YSM Pressed Powder

Product: Inglot YSM Pressed Powder
Price: £11
Colour: No. 45
Where to buy: Inglot shop, online shop

I was trying to find a really good foundation that could replace the Laneige Sliding Pact . I remember the lady from Inglot store applying this on my face. I really liked it. It made my face look flawless. It also added a natural colour on my face. I liked how it gives a natural matte look on my face without looking cakey.

My friend, recommended Inglot, stating it was the next MAC but cheaper. I haven't really tried MAC pressed powder because the products price is just too expensive. This is reasonable price since the quality is really good. There is a mirror and a sponge provided (I prefer using my brush to brush it on.)

Verdict: 8/10 I am very pleased with my purchased. I like how there is lots of different colours to choose from so you can easily match your skin colour. The pressed powder does not get everywhere either. The powder is buildable depending on which tool you use e.g. using a brush and sweeping it on your face gives a natural look. Using a sponge means you can skip foundation and use this and a concealer.
